Shocked motorist Craig Upton called police about the bizarre sight when he was travelling to work. Police are now hunting the masked man after a sighting in woodlands in Hants
A man wearing nothing but a black latex mask was spotted ‘staring at traffic’ then running through woodland.
Shocked motorist Craig Upton called 999 after coming across the bizarre sight at 7am when he was travelling to work.
Police are now hunting the masked man following the sighting in woodlands next to the A343 in Highclere, Hants.
Mr Upton, from Andover, Hants, said: “He was stood at a five-bar gate in a layby… naked with a latex black mask on.
“He was just stood, staring at the traffic like a horror movie, and then when we drove back past after turning around, he was running off.”
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We received a report from a member of the public regarding the sighting of a suspicious man exposing himself to traffic at around 7am [on September 7] along the A343 from Highclere towards the A34.
“Did you see what happened? Were you in the area at the time? Perhaps you have dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation.”
On an other occasion a black-clad ‘gimp’ was seen walking the aisles of Tesco in Colchester, Essex in April 2020.
The man had been terrorising villagers in Claverham, Somerset, for over a year, jumping from dark spots while making sexual gestures and grunting, according to residents.
On almost every occasion he has escaped before anyone could stop him ask why he’s terrorising the village.
In an other incident in 2019 a ‘grunting’ man wearing a gimp suit terrified villagers by jumping out in front of them.
Terrified villagers still say they can’t get the sinister figure out of their heads
A 20-year-old victim told the BBC how she feared how she was going to be attacked.
She then said: “He kept coming towards me and was touching his groin, grunting and breathing heavy.
“As I tried to take a step back he was right in front of my face and he put his leg forward. I was just trying to assess the situation in my head quickly.
“Everything was running through my head. I thought: ‘This is it, I’m going to get attacked’. Every time I close my eyes I just see that face.
